DevFest Avatar Creator
Privacy
DevFest Avatar Creator is built to keep the basic avatar flow simple: upload, frame, download. This page explains what happens to photos and usage data.
Back to creatorPhotos
When you upload a photo and choose a standard frame, the crop and frame merge happen in your browser. The generated avatar is downloaded to your device. We do not intentionally store uploaded photos or generated avatars from the standard frame flow.
If you choose the Gemini style, your selected image is sent to the DevFest Avatar Creator backend so the image can be processed and returned. Do not use the Gemini style for images you do not want sent for AI processing.
Usage Counts
The app stores aggregate usage counters in Firebase, such as site visits, uploaded image count, total avatars created, and selected frame colors. These counters are not intended to identify individual people.
Demo downloads made from the bundled sample images are not counted as created avatars or frame usage. On localhost and development hosts, usage writes are disabled unless explicitly enabled for testing.
Analytics
The creator page uses Google Analytics to understand general site traffic and improve the experience. Google may process information such as page views, browser details, approximate location, and referrer information according to its own policies.
Sharing
Sharing buttons open the selected social platform in a new window with prepared text and the site URL. The generated image is not automatically uploaded by those buttons. Any information you post on a social platform is handled by that platform.
Local Files
The app may read the image file you choose through your browser's file picker. HEIC or HEIF images may be converted in the browser before framing. The app does not get access to other files on your device.
